Oh Kyung-Mi

Yoo Mee-Sook
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the playful interactions of a child with delayed language development and his mother during CPRT participation. The phenomenological characteristics were as follows. The play centered around the making attempts at the unfamiliar, free and invisible boundary between the play world and the real world was established. The participants then had to follow each other's rules to be able to play together. They were in natural contact with each other. The mother followed the language and gestures of the child, and the child repeated in turn in order to show himself more. The child felt as if the play time was flowing too fast, but it was time for the mother to deliberately process. The interactions had the following essential therapeutic implications. They were emotionally tuning in effect, as if they were dancing to a dynamic rhythm. The child could become more subjective of himself, and the mother took upon herself a true mother role.
